Dear Parents and Carers,

Parent Teacher Interviews and Three Way Conferences

While a written report is important, building the relationship between school and family, as research has shown, has a very positive effect on student achievement. As such, we ask all parents to take this opportunity to have a formal interview to discuss your child’s progress and learning goals with their class teacher.

The format of the interview for Stage 2 and 3 is a three-way conference between parent/s, child and teacher. This an opportunity for students to share their goals, their learning and receive feedback to move their learning forward. The conversation will include academic and skill     development. The students will choose and share examples of their work.

The format of interview for Kindergarten and Stage 1 parents is a parent and teacher conversation. If your child is in Kindergarten or Stage 1 and you have had a recent formal discussion around your child’s learning you do not need to make another appointment.
