Staff Spotlight Mrs Binutti-Wilson
Name: Lisa Binutti-Wilson
Teaching: I teach Year 3/4 this year but have taught every year level. I particularly love teaching the older students and preparing them for high school.
The students call me Mrs B-W which is short for Mrs Binutti-Wilson but I have been called Mrs BMW, Mrs BnW and Mrs Big W (which makes me laugh).
I worked at Holy Family in Gowrie before coming to Sacred Heart.
I have a daughter, Zara, who is 18 years old and a dog named Oscar. Oscar is a bichoodle and when he was younger he used to take the children’s homework books that I was marking on a Friday night. He ran around the house with one between his teeth.
I love cooking good food. I love to go to restaurants that serve good quality food, that’s why I love to watch MasterChef in my spare time.
I love watching netball especially when my daughter was playing. I sometimes watch AFL and enjoy seeing the athleticism of the players. Go Collingwood!
If I could travel to a country in the world that I haven’t been to, I would love to go to the Icehotel in Sweden just for the experience of staying in a hotel temporarily made from blocks of ice. I wouldn’t stay there for long because I don’t like the cold.
The last book I read was To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee after it was put on by the Canberra Repertory Society. A student that went to Sacred Heart was in it!
An interesting fact everyone may not know about me is that I love to see the expression on children’s faces when I tell them that Mr French was a student of mine when I taught at Holy Family. Mr French is always very sweet and says that I must have been fresh out of school when I was his teacher!
