Principal's News
Dear Sacred Heart Community,
We’re all very excited about our Twilight Fair tomorrow! Please join us tomorrow from 3:30 p.m. for an incredible afternoon filled with rides, delicious food, and live entertainment. The weather is forecasted to be perfect, so bring your family and friends along! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate, and enjoy the spirit of our Sacred Heart community.
Thanks to the committee and the many staff and parents who have contributed to this significant event.
A reminder that tomorrow is a uniform free day.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
Every minute counts!
This is a reminder to parents that ‘every minute counts’ regarding school attendance. We are noticing that many students are coming to school late, which means they are missing out on important learning.
Playground supervision commences at 8:30, and students are in class (following our morning assembly) at 8:55. Formal learning starts when students get straight into our literacy block (including daily review, Spelling Mastery for 3-6, Sounds-Write for K-2, etc.).
We understand that, from time to time, something may come up that prevents you from getting to school on time, but students must work to be on time each day as this helps them get into the best mindset for a successful day of learning.
We appreciate your support in ensuring that your child/children arrive at school before 8:50 to take full advantage of every minute of learning!
Office sign in
We want to remind all parents and caregivers that students arriving late must be signed in at the front office. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in students entering the school through other doors without being signed in. This legal requirement ensures we have an accurate student attendance record. Additionally, if you are dropping off items such as books, lunch boxes, or other belongings, please do so through the front office. This process helps us keep our students safe and accounted for at all times. I appreciate your cooperation in following these procedures
Kindergarten Orientation
Next Thursday, we are excited to welcome nearly 40 new Kindergarten students and their families to Sacred Heart. This orientation session, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, offers our newest students a chance to meet their teachers, get a feel for their new school, and build excitement for the year ahead. Parents can hear essential information about Sacred Heart and connect with other families. We can’t wait to see you all for this vital step in your child’s school journey!
Remembrance Day Service
We will gather on Monday at 10:40 a.m. outside the Church to honour Remembrance Day. This day holds deep significance in Australia as we remember and pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed. Parents and visitors are invited to join us for this solemn and reflective service.
Grandparents Day- Friday, November 29
We warmly invite all grandparents and special friends to join us for a memorable Grandparents & Grandpersons Day on Friday, November 29th! Festivities begin with our morning assembly at 8:50, followed by a whole school Mass at 9:30 to celebrate and give thanks for the invaluable role these special individuals play in our lives. After Mass, guests are invited to enjoy classroom visits, where students will proudly share their learning. The morning will conclude with a lovely morning tea for adults only in the school hall at 11:00. Please help us spread the word and make this day a memorable one for all!
Class Allocations for 2025 due tomorrow
This is a reminder that all written concerns for class placements for 2025 for current students in Years 1 and 2 must be sent to me by tomorrow via email (david.austin@cg.catholic.edu.au). Following this date, staff will begin looking at class lists, and all concerns from parents following that date cannot be considered.
See you at the Fair!
In faith and partnership,
David Austin
