Principal's News
Dear Sacred Heart Community,
It’s hard to believe how quickly this term is passing, with just a few weeks before Easter. The mornings are darker- before we know it, we will be in the middle of winter! We will gather in just a few weeks to celebrate our Holy Week liturgies as we prepare for Easter. These moments hold deep significance for us as a Catholic school community, offering an opportunity to reflect on Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection.
Please claim the dates:
- Friday 4 April (Palm Sunday liturgy, led by Kinder at 2:40pm) in the hall.
- Thursday 10th April (Holy Thursday liturgy, led by Year 4 at 12:45pm in the hall
- Thursday 10th April (Good Friday and Easter liturgy), led by Year 5 and 6 in the Church at 2pm.
We look forward to sharing these special celebrations with you.
Working Bee Success
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Working Bee last Friday afternoon. The turnout was very good, and we achieved so much together. It was wonderful to see parents, staff, and students working side by side, building community spirit while making tangible improvements to our school. A huge thanks to all those who assisted. If you are missing gardening gloves- we have a couple of pairs!

Athletics Carnival
Planning for tomorrow's Athletics Carnival is in full swing, and I have no doubt it will be another fantastic day of sportsmanship and school pride. Congratulations to Laura Stumbles, our Sports Coordinator, for her tireless efforts organising this huge event. The organisation behind the scenes is enormous—thanks, Laura. Thank you also to the many parents who are volunteering to help tomorrow—it truly couldn’t happen without your support. A full report next week!
Thank you for your continued support of what we do at Sacred Heart. Have a blessed and productive week.
Staffing Changes
As you know, Mrs. Laura Stumbles will remain as Religious Education Coordinator for the rest of this year. The following staffing changes will take place for the remainder of 2025:
- Mrs. Elysia Riley will continue to teach on Mondays and Tuesdays in 2 White.
- Mrs. Simonne Evenden has kindly agreed to work every second Friday in Room 2 Red, while Elysia will continue teaching in the same class every second Friday.
- Caroline O'Mara will teach four days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) in 3 White, with Mrs. Sam Peake stepping in to teach every Wednesday for the rest of the year.
The position of REC will be advertised later this year for a 2026 start.
I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Caroline, Simonne, Elysia, and Sam, who have all graciously taken on these additional roles for the students, ensuring minimal disruption to their learning.
Concerns with the online game, Roblox
The school has been informed that some senior students using the online game Roblox are engaging in inappropriate behaviour. Concerns have been raised that students may be teasing or bullying others and engaging in inappropriate sexual behaviour while playing the game. We have also raised concerns that children in the game may interact with unknown players, including adults pretending to be children. For more information on keeping children safe online using platforms like Roblox, visit the e-Safety Commission's website- https://www.esafety.gov.au/.
If any parents have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
In faith and partnership,
David Austin
