National Ride Safely to School Week 28 Oct – 1 Nov 2019
It's that time of term when we whip out the lycra and jump on the bike to promote healthy lifestyles.
Week 3 is National Ride Safely to School Week and we have a few great things on!
Everyday at morning assembly we will highlight the important safety aspect for all our budding riders to help them take charge of their own safety when riding their bikes to and from school. Riders will be given double raffle tickets in the mornings for our raffle draw at assembly, children are reminded that they must seek out the teacher with the tickets.
Tuesday lunchtimes our Wheels Club will continue and we would love as many people to participate as possible! Cycling lessons as part of Stage 2 Sport will be on as usual as well.
Friday will be our whole school community event where we will meet at our normal walk and ride stations (see the giant map at the back of the school for locations) at 8:20am and ride in groups to school. At school we will have fruit for a healthy snack upon arrival and some pumping music to welcome you! Robert from the Trek store in Phillip will be joining us again to be part of the celebrations of our healthy and active week and will be bringing along some wonderful prizes he has donated. All participating students will receive their name in the draw for one of these great prizes!
This week is not just for students but is a great way for parents to take advantage of the wonderful weather and share in the joy and health benefits that cycling provides.
All hail the power of the pedal!
