Calling any Interested Peewee (Under 5/6) Soccer Players
Looking to get together any Sacred Heart kids who have started Kindy this year to play soccer with Woden Valley Football Club.
Technically peewee’s don’t have teams, however, form 4 player a side teams each Saturday morning and play mini-games. From experience with our older son, it is a great way for the kids to make friends at school and for us to get to know other Sacred Heart families. In our older son’s case, a team was born from getting together at this early age that continue through to Under 7s, 8’s and 9’s.
There is no training, and games are 9.30am Saturday mornings at Mawson playing fields. Season dates are from the first weekend of Term 2 through to the last weekend of Term 3.
If you have a child interested in playing with the team please register at:
http://wvsc.org.au/registration/how-to-register/
Then email myself, Elissa Berry (Murray Berry’s mum), so we can organise a meeting spot on the day. Registration closes March 2nd.
Learn to be a chess champion! Coaching for students at Sacred Heart Primary School
(Pearce, ACT) is held on Thursdays from 11:00am to 11:45am, starting on 13 February 2020.
Learning and playing chess helps children develop their logical thinking and problem solving
skills, improves their concentration and focus, while also being a great source of enjoyment.
Activities include group lessons on a demonstration chess board or interactive whiteboard,
puzzle solving and fun practice games.
Students earn merit awards by making checkmates, or by displaying skills and positive
qualities, which all good chess players strive to develop.
If your child is interested in taking part, you can collect an enrolment form from the school
office, or email enrol@sydneyacademyofchess.com.au for a copy. For all enquiries, please
contact Sydney Academy of Chess on (02) 9745 1170.
