  • Assessments this week in Year 3 and 5

Students in Years 3 and 5 participated in two ‘NAPLAN style’ assessments this week. The results will be collated by the CE and used by teachers to identify cohort curriculum needs. Doing these assessments, since NAPLAN was cancelled this year, will enable students to develop skills with this style of testing.

  • Jersey Day to support Organ Donation

All students are encouraged to wear their favourite Jersery to school for National Jersery day, Friday 4th Septermber to support and raise awarenss for organ donation in Australia. If students don't have a jersery, they can wear their favourite coloured shirt. Students are expected to wear their regular school uniform along with the Jersey. We will not be seeking a donation.

For further information, please visit the website https://www.jerseyday.com.au/

We can't wait to see all your jerseys on Friday.

  • Literacy and Numeracy Week

We hope you the students have been enjoying the mystery 'celebrity reader' each day, reading a great text to the whole school.

On our school Facebook page you can see the identity of the mystery reader and the text they shared.

Also on the page this week, will be five different maths card games for families to play together. Today the students learnt these games in their peer support groups.

  • Uniform Reminder

All students must be wearing hats on the playground.

With just two weeks of Term 3 left, it is time to start thinking about summer uniform. We have noticed a number of non-uniform items being worn with the winter school uniform and in particular with the sport uniform and are gently encouraging students to wear full school unifrom. We acknowledge the difficulty this year in getting out to the shops to purchase items.

So that every child starts Term 4 with the correct items for summer school and sport uniform, please plan ahead now. If you need to buy summer items from our clothing pool, please book in an appointment time through the office. See available times in the reminders below. Please refer to the Uniform Policy on our website for all details, including acceptable jewelry, hair and accessories.

  • Clothing Pool  Clothing Pool this term is by appointment only. Please ring the Front Office to book an appointment time. The days and times available are: Monday morning 8.30-9am, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 12-2.15pm and Friday afternoon 12-3pm. Orders can also be made through the QKR App and then delivered to your child.

  • YMCA School Holiday Program Holiday Care is confirmed for October school holidays! Check the YMCA website for details. The program allows you to enrol for days that your children will love.

  • Book Week ( 19th – 23rd October)

Term 3 is usually when we celebrate the Children’s Book Council Awards (CBCA). Due to the pandemic, Book Week has been moved to next term. However, we will continue to share and explore the shortlisted books during library this Term.  We will celebrate Book Week during Week 2, Term 4, the 19th-23rd October. The theme to this year’s Book Week is 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds'.
