We are commencing our Peer Support lessons next Friday. The whole school participates in Peer Support for 30 minutes each week. One Year 6 Peer leader will facilitate a small group of 6-8 younger students, who work together through a number of structured activities. Each teacher will supervise 2-3 groups in their classroom.

Sacred Heart are working on a module called Living Positively helping us explore the concept of optimism. Our first session enables the children to get to know everyone in the group, agreeing on how they will work well together and interact cooperatively with others. They will also begin to think about what it means to be optimistic. We encourage you to talk to your children about Peer Support every week, as it will help to reinforce the concepts learned in each session.

SZapp – Managing your messages

SZapp is our main avenue for communicating with families. It was brought to our attention this week that some families were missing some messages. We discovered that not everyone knew to update their preferences to receive messages for a particular stage. So, within the SZapp app

  1. Select the MANAGE tab
  2. Toggle on PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
  3. Toggle on the name of your child’s STAGE group

We do not publish the security code for Sacred Heart in writing. Please speak to staff and other parents for our code or phone the office.

If you have the app for a number of schools, we advise you to select the DEFAULT SUBSCRIPTION to best suit you, and then carefully monitor messages from all schools.

We are monitoring COVID-19 restrictions and hoping to welcome parents, carers and visitors back into the school for more events. Please monitor our communications carefully for how we will manage bookings and visits for Open Days, learning journeys or classroom visits, enrolment visits, Friday assemblies and our all-important Mother’s Day celebrations.

Open Days Save the Dates – 5th, 7th and 13th May 2021 Open days for current and prospective families.

We are aware there are many families across the school who have not had a chance to visit to see what schooling at Sacred Heart is like across all grades K-6. This year our Open Days will welcome current and prospective parents to take a tour and/or talk to staff about Sacred Heart K-6. Please save a date and watch for details on SZapp and our website.

Please Click Here for our K-6 Brochure, promoting the wonderful opportunities Sacred Heart Pearce offers from Playgroup – to Year 6. We encourage you to take a new look and to pass it on to local families.
