AROUND THE SCHOOL
Last week in Peer Support the children identified their strengths. Children explored the following important strengths - curiosity, kindness and teamwork. Through the activities, the children were able to recognise which strengths they possessed. They realised how important it was to use their strengths in different situations.
What does collaboration look like in the classrooms of Sacred Heart?
Today Year 3 were asked to reflect upon some group work they had been collaborating on throughout the week. The questions posed to them were: Think about their role in the group? How did the group work together? What were the positive and negatives of collaborating? What would they do better next time?
This student's reflection is a brilliant example of how students at our school are growing as deep thinkers and reflective learners. They are positively engaging with the assets for learning (Murdoch, 2015). This example demonstrates that as we grow and learn together, we are better able to think deeply about material we are investigating, as well as how we operate as learners.

What does great literacy learning look like?
At Sacred Heart this week Stage 2 started a new phase of our Sounds Right learning journey in literacy pods. The aim of this program is to break the children into small groups, focusing upon their spelling needs and helping them to build their confidence and knowledge around phonemic awareness and spelling. Developing the students skills as both thinkers and collaborators of their own learning.
Playgroup
This week at playgroup the children had fun with imaginary play.
