Helping girls to stand tall

Girls handle conflict in one of three ways: like a shark (aggressively), a turtle (passively) or an owl (assertively).

In this article we look at each style, and provide ways to help your daughter develop effective patterns she can use to resolve conflict amicably, respectfully, and effectively so she can stand tall and feel confident in her own skin.

ICAS Assessments

Sacred Heart will be participating in the world-renowned ICAS Assessments again this year. The assessments are offered to children in Years 2-6. Parents can choose to enrol their child in these tests. Each test costs between $17-22. The assessment will be held in school hours during August. Anticipated dates and test costs are listed below. The assessments will take place at school at the most suitable time on that day. Access the PDF note here or pick up one from the office.

Mums’ Gone Wild

A huge thanks to Meg Salter from Aurdian Training and Consulting and RecruitableHub (mum of Emmy and Bobby) for leading us through a fun and informative workshop on Sunday night.

About 40 women attended our community event. If you see us watching your body language, in particular what you are doing with your hands, know that we are building our communication skills. ‘Physiology of Confidence’ was a fun way to build skills in being more assertive in the workplace.

The evening was a fun way to reconnect our community and to meet some new women. It was great to see so many new faces come along and feel the support of our nurturing community.

I wonder what the Dads could organise?

Winter_Appeal_21.jpg

The Vinnies Winter Appeal provides emergency relief to people at risk and experiencing homelessness. Your donation and support will help ensure that families at risk of homelessness get the financial and emotional support they need to keep themselves and their children safe.

Particularly in these colder months we ask for:

  • Blankets
  • Large Jackets
  • Large Jumpers
  • Warm Gloves and Socks
  • Sleeping Bags

These donations then go directly to people in need in your community.

The Sacred Heart Community is encouraged to donate any of the items listed above to help support the Vinnies Winter Appeal. Donations can be handed into the Front Office.
