Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope that everyone was able to take advantage of the beautiful autumn weather we experienced over the holidays and Easter. The staff were very grateful for the opportunity to participate in Professional Learning on Tuesday. The focus for the day was Catalyst, the system initiative to support students in their learning. We spent time deepening our understanding of how children learn to read and write and planning for how we will adopt and adapt what we do in the classroom. We also planned and discussed the High Impact Teaching Practice of Daily Review in Mathematics and how we will further imbed this at SHPS. 

PUPIL FREE DAYS TERM 2

Schools in the ACT have been granted two extra pupil free days in Term 2 to support staff with the impact of teacher shortages and the extra workload this has placed on all staff in all schools.

In order to help families plan ahead, we are communicating now the days we have chosen for our pupil free days during Term 2 at Sacred Heart.

Tuesday 31st May and Friday 1 July

We thought attaching them to the long weekend and the July school holidays may assist families.

As you are aware Mrs Shari Cooper has been on sick leave during Term 1. Shari will be taking further leave as she begins treatment following her surgery for breast cancer. We know that you will keep her in your prayers as navigates the journey ahead.
