AROUND THE SCHOOL

Remembrance Day

A beautiful ceremony to commemorate Remembrance Day this year. Thank you to everyone who came to join Sacred Heart.

Olympics Unleashed

Matt from Olympics Unleashed shared his story with Sacred Heart. Our students were excited to see his Judo skills and really took in his challenge to strive towards your goals.

Sacred Heart Boys Day

On Friday, 18th November, Sacred Heart hosted it’s first “Doing it for the Boys'' Symposium.

The aim of this project is to help build a sense of belonging and camaraderie between the male students in upper primary at Sacred Heart

The boys shared their thoughts on expected changes and challenges, participated in bonding activities and shared a pizza lunch.

The group was asked what special talents and skills they would like to develop next year, in separate lunchtime clubs or within the classroom. The findings will be considered by our school executive and Community Council, we then hope to reach out to the broader school community for assistance. If you have a talent that you would like to share within our school that may fit with this project please let us know and we may reach out in the future.

Walk and Ride Safely to School

The community had a wonderful morning meeting family, friends and teachers for the Walk to school morning.

Book Reviewers

Don, from the Catholic Voice, asked Year 1 to review a new children’s Christmas book. Kerry Wode shared 'Lift the flap - Christmas Stories' with 1 White. The students were very excited to use their critical literacy skills to be ‘reviewers’ of this new book.

Some of their comments where:

The book has really good explanations of the story of Jesus and great illustrations. by Isla

I like the illustrations and the pictures that lift up. It would be good for children younger than me. By Olivia

We like how the flaps help tell the story. By Finn and Poppy

It is a nice book. Can I have a turn to read it?  By Michael
