Dear parents and Carers,
We pray in gratitude for our mothers
and for all women who have joined with you
in the wonder of bringing forth new life.
May the blessing of God
be upon mothers everywhere
On Mother's Day!
This week we set aside time to give thanks for mothers and to express our gratitude for them. This time can also have mixed emotions for some people as it can be a time of sadness.
I recently read ‘The Happiest Man on Earth’ by Eddie Jaku, a holocaust survivor. The book offers much wisdom and reflection on what is important in life. As I read the book I thought it very relevant to the celebration of Mother’s Day as he gives the following message when he speaks to people and in his book-
“If you have the opportunity today, please go home and tell your mother how much you love her. Do this for your mother. And do it for your new friend, Eddie, who cannot tell it to his mother.”
Mother’s Day at School on Friday
Breakfast from 8.00 am. Orders have closed and catering has been organised accordingly.
Mass in the Church at 9.30am. Since this is a day of mixed emotions and not all children will have a guest, the children will sit with their class. We ask family members to leave room in the front of each section for the classes.
Awards will be presented following Mass (No assembly in the afternoon)
Open classrooms. Parent’s and special friends can move around the school to visit your child's class
Netball game.
Keeping children safe in the car park
Please be mindful that our car park can have children in it at any time. Parents are using the drop off area at various times in the day. Therefore -
- it is important that vehicles travel slowly
- Parents and carers are patient
- Do not overtake a car stopped near the front door or drop off zone on the left
Take care and keep safe
