Dear Parents and Carers,
This Sunday we celebrate the second week of Advent by lighting the second purple candle on the Advent Wreath. This candle is called the “Bethlehem Candle” and is a reminder of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem. It represents faith.

Student absent notes
We ask parents to ensure notes have been completed for any day your child was absent from school this term. A reminder of dates that need actioning has been emailed via the compass platform. If there is any question about a date, please contact your child’s teacher immediately.
Readers and Library Books
It is time to collect any readers and library books your child has at home. Please return them to school so we can undertake our annual stocktake and prepare for next year.
End-of-year cleaning up
Teachers are starting to clean up in classrooms. This means we will be sending home workbooks and items that have been on display. Please empty your child’s bag each night.
2022 Sacred Heart Fete
We are planning to hold our school fete in September 2022. It will easily be the highlight of the year! Early in the new year we will be calling for fabulous people to join our Fete Committee. No experience necessary. It’s a great way to connect with others in our community. Later in the year we will be calling for sponsors, stall hosts and an array of helpers. How will you be involved in our fete in 2022?
Yours faithfully,

2021 Semester 2 Reports
Compass is Sacred Heart’s new administration platform. The 2021 Semester 2 school reports will be accessible only from the Compass online platform.
We will send a SZapp message on Monday 6th December to let you know when the reports can be accessed.
Compass can be accessed through your web browser or by downloading the Compass School Manager app from the App Store or Google Play.
An email was sent to every family on the 7th September 2021 with information about Compass and your personalised login details. The sender was compass @compass.email (please check your junk email folder).
* When searching for our school once you have downloaded the app, type PEARCE rather than our name to make locating us in the list much easier.
YMCA are yet to confirm that they will run this program at Sacred Heart.
Students Not Returning in 2022
To help in preparing for classes for 2022, we kindly ask that if your child/children will not be returning in 2022, to please fill out and return the attached form as soon as possible.
Last Friday the staff and students wore crazy socks to school. Thank you to the Sacred Heart community for your donations towards the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. The school raised over $200 which was used to buy games and toys chosen by our Stage 3 students for children in our region.
Every year the Sacred Heart community supports the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal with donations of food for Christmas Hampers. This year we want to continue to play an important part in renewing hope for the thousands of people who face an uncertain Christmas. Together, we can continue to bring smiles of love and joy to the people who need it most this season.
The appeal collection will run from Thursday 11th November (Week 6) through to Friday 3rd December (Week 9). Donations will be collected in classrooms.
The Stages have been allocated the following items:
Kindergarten – Sweet biscuits, cereal, long life milk
Stage 1 – Chips, sweets/lollies, Christmas cakes
Stage 2 – Soft drinks, cordials, Christmas puddings
Stage 3 –Dried pasta, pasta sauce, tea and coffee, milo
Thank you in advance for your generosity in making others in our community Christmas feel special during this holiday season.
