Open Classroom Invitation (in lieu of our traditional Father's Day activities)
On Friday 2nd September, we would like to invite our Sacred Heart families to another open classroom to celebrate the wonderful learning of the students. In particular, we would like to welcome fathers and father figures as an acknowledgement of the special role they have in their child’s life. We are unable to have a mass this year, as Fr. Richard will be away; therefore, the open classrooms are a way of creating an occasion for the students to connect with their families.
Date: Friday 2nd September 8am-8:45am
Guides: Your child(ren) will be your guide. They may take you to any classroom around the school. Please avoid the Hall as YMCA will be hosting before school care. It is the children’s choice as to what they want to show you. Some teachers may be around, but any specific questions about your child’s learning should be discussed at an interview time.
Social distancing: Please enter through the front doors at the Front Office, so we are aware of the number of people in the building. QR codes will be available but are not mandatory. Please maintain 1.5m between family groups and if a room or area is crowded, please visit another room first.
Virtues at Sacred Heart
“Virtues are our inner strengths, the content of our character, and the truest expression of our self.”
At Sacred Heart we aim to embed our school virtues of gratitude, integrity, equity and respect into all aspects of life. We have started an initiative to acknowledge those students who are living the virtues through being positive and contributing members of our school community.
Students can receive a Virtues Ticket from any member of staff and go into a draw to have a special pizza lunch with Mrs. Staines. All students nominated for tickets will also receive extra supervised playtime.
Last Friday we had our first draw for lunch with Mrs. Staines, congratulations to those students who were the lucky winners.
Our school crest has the words Virtue and Knowledge. At Sacred Heart, we nurture hearts, minds and spirits
Playgroup
It was a busy day on Tuesday with children enjoying playing with shaving cream. Ruby said “It feels like clouds”
