Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you have been able to take advantage of SABBATH week at SHPS. This week is set aside each term for parents to be able to focus on family and spend quality time together. There is no set homework for week 7, although we still encourage families to continue to enjoy reading each day.
Happy Father’s Day
We wish all of our SHPS fathers and father figures a very happy Father’s Day.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to our open morning on Friday between 8-845am to celebrate this very special day. This invitation is extended to all parents.
Please be aware that Fr John Woods will be celebrating a morning mass in the Church from 8.30 on Friday morning, so this could mean an increase in car park traffic.
BOOK WEEK
Congratulations and thank you to all families who participated so enthusiastically in the book week activities and parade. The costumes were awesome, and it was such a joy filled day. We extend a huge thank you to Mr Aaron Fox for his work in the library to ensure another successful book week at Sacred Heart.
School Uniform
Please ensure your child is in full school uniform as per our school policy. Note that we begin to wear our summer uniform at the commencement of term 4.
Playing after school
For the safety of all children we have reminded all students that there are no handball or any other games in the afternoon.
Sacred Heart Cookbook 2023
We are delighted to announce that Sacred Heart will be working on a school cookbook as one of our primary fundraisers for 2023. All students, parents and teachers are invited to participate. The cookbook will be organised by the school Terms. As such we will begin photographing for Term 4 as soon as possible, in the view of having the cookbook ready for sale in Term 4 of 2023.
Parents interested in this activity will be asked to prepare the food and send it in to school with your child in their lunch box or a well-sealed container, as well as a print out of the recipe (list of ingredients and method). The foods we will be eager to include would be recipes you may prepare for your children's recess, lunch, afternoon tea/snacks, as well as left-overs from dinner the night before. These categories should allow for your favourite family recipe to be included somewhere!
If you are interested in participating please email Jasmin Walmsley who will be coordinating and photographing your lovely food and children devouring the cook ups if you so wish.
Take care and keep safe

Open Classroom Invitation (in lieu of our traditional Father's Day activities)
Date: Friday 2nd September 8am-8:45am
On Friday 2nd September, we would like to invite our Sacred Heart families to another open classroom to celebrate the wonderful learning of the students. In particular, we would like to welcome fathers and father figures as an acknowledgement of the special role they have in their child’s life. We are unable to have a mass this year, as Fr. Richard will be away; therefore, the open classrooms are our way of creating an occasion for the students to connect with their families.
Guides: Your child(ren) will be your guide. They may take you to any classroom around the school. Please avoid the Hall as YMCA will be hosting before school care. It is the children’s choice as to what they want to show you. Some teachers may be around, but any specific questions about your child’s learning should be discussed at an interview time.
Social distancing: Please enter through the front doors at the Front Office, so we are aware of the number of people in the building. QR codes will be available but are not mandatory. Please maintain 1.5m between family groups and if a room or area is crowded, please visit another room first.
