Swimming Carnival - Wednesday 22nd March, Stromlo
Cross Country - Term 2, Week 1, Friday 28th April, On site at school.
As with any community events, we always need help to run these, so if you could spare a few hours with any of these events, it would be greatly appreciated.
All permission notes and information regarding these events will be sent out through the COMPASS App.
Swimming
Wednesday 22nd March, Stromlo Pool
On Monday, swimming carnival information notes were given to all students. The notes were either blue or orange depending on the age of your child/ren.
The Compass consent and questions will be active no later than tomorrow (Friday). There is a very quick turnaround for this to be completed, and we would appriciate you completing ASAP.
If you have any questions or if Compass is not working, speak with either your child's classroom teacher or the Front Office.
Families with more than one child at the school may receive two slightly different event consent forms. This is because there is a difference between what children who are 8yrs and above can participate in at the carnival, with those children who are 7yrs or younger.
Netball
Good luck to our Stage 3 Students who will play in the 5/6 Netball Gala day at Deakin. Thank you to Mrs Barranger and Miss Dempsey who will coach our teams.
Athletics
We had such a wonderful day at the carnival, the children had smiles on their faces all day. Thank you to the parents who volunteered and those parents who waited patiently for the buses to arrive to watch their child race.
We would also like to thank the students from MacKillop who were so helpful all day.
AFL
Our wonderful AFL clinics are continuing on until week 9 of this term. The students are enjoying the new skills they are learning.

Playgroup
Last week while all the Sacred Heart Students were at the Athletics Carnival, Playgroup had great fun exploring the school.
We blew bubbles and tried out the big desks in Mrs Kelly’s Year 5 classroom.
We jumped on the cushions in Mr French’s Year 2 class and played the musical instruments in Mrs Riley’s Music Room.
Thank you for sharing your spaces with Playgroup.
Thank you also to Orla for donating a shopping trolley, Rosie and Alia for their donation a bike and trailer, Harriet and Ava for the donation of blocks and Duplo and to Anne and Bentley for the big books.
We really appreciate your wonderful support.
Stage 3 Excursion
On Monday 6th March, Year 5/6 students visited the Museum of Australian Democracy and the National Electoral Commission. We were able to sit in the House of Commons at Old Parliament House and discovered how voting and referendums work to enact societal change. The rose garden was also a beautiful space for lunch!
