National Ride and Walk to School Day
On Friday 24th March, it is National Ride and Walk to school day. Students will be able to meet teachers from 8:15am at different points around our suburb, ready to walk at 8:20am. If it is raining a Compass push will be sent out. Please see the below map. This is a great way for students who may want to ride or walk to find other children who live near them to join a group to come safely to school.
In the morning when students arrive at school there will be music, fruit and raffle tickets for them to enter a draw to win some prizes.
SEEKING NETBALL COACHES
We have successfully rounded up enough players to enter a Year 2/3 team (Lightning Bolts) this year, however we still need a volunteer coach for this team. If anyone is keen or knows a person who may be interested, please email Brooke for more information. As a junior team, this could be a great opportunity for a high school or Uni student to take on an extracurricular activity. They will have plenty of support from parents in the team who can assist at practices also. Training will be held before the games at 8am, Saturdays at the Stirling courts.
We are still finalising numbers for our senior teams. If we end up with two teams in this age group - we will need a coach for the second team also.
A reminder for families to donate an egg/or eggs, books, colouring, stickers for the Easter Raffle. The more goodies we get, the more prizes there will be for the children to win!!
Raffle tickets are due back no later than Monday 3rd April. Additional raffle books are available at the Front Office.
The Easter Hat Parade is open to all students and will be on Tuesday morning 4th April.

Playgroup
At Thursdays Playgroup we enjoyed a visit from some year 4, 5 and 6 students who were dressed in their national costume for Harmony Day.
After telling us what country they or their family were from, they joined us to listen to the story Whoever You Are by Mem Fox.
Little Hearts Playgroup offers a range of educational experiences for toddlers and preschool children with the support of their parents or carers. You do not need to have children attend Sacred Heart Primary to be a part of our playgroup community.
Come and join us each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 11am
Swimming Carnival
On Wednesday 22nd March, saw the school community gathered for the first time in two years, for the school swimming carnival at Stromlo Leisure Centre. Everyone had a wonderful day and it was so lovely to see all the happy faces. Thank you to Mrs Laura Stumbles for organising and coordinating this fabulous event for our children. Thank you to everyone that attended and assisted to make it a memory filled day.

About Saver Plus:
Saver Plus is a free community program where you can get up to $500 in matched funding for education costs.
The program was developed by Brotherhood of St Laurence and ANZ in 2003. It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services and ANZ.
There are three parts to the program:
- SAVING – ANZ bank will match what participants save up to $50 a month to a total of $500 over 10 months
- WORKSHOPS - fun workshops where participants build on their money management skills and we share lots of resources. These are held on Zoom and have never been more flexible to attend.
- CLAIMING - On the 11th month of the program participants claim their matched funding.
In the information session we will discuss how the program works, eligibility criteria and how participants can get up to $500 as matched savings for education costs. Also take up questions about the program.
