This week’s Gospel shows us that Jesus was growing in his understanding of his mission and responsive to change. The Canaanite woman’s faith changes her status from an outsider to disciple and a model for all other disciples.
This week let us be conscious of the importance of welcoming the stranger, the outcast, those in need physically or spiritually.
In our prayer this week let us give thanks for the faith that has been given to us and strengthened in our lives. Bring to Jesus the things that might need to be healed in your own life, work or family.
Father’s Day Celebrations
We sent home the information regarding father’s day celebrations this week. We are still looking for someone to coordinate the team of volunteers. Please give the front office a ring if you have any questions before committing yourself to take on this role.
Father’s Day Challenge
We will be asking dads /special friends to work with their children to create a paper plane to use in a competition on the day. Details to be confirmed shortly.
Card Collections
We have many excited students sharing their latest card collections at school. We have asked the children to refrain from trading and would encourage families to consider keeping rare cards at home.
No sport equipment from home
A reminder that children are not to bring sports equipment (handballs are OK) to school for lunchtime and recess play. With the recent Matilda’s hype, soccer has become a popular playground activity and we did have a short term soccer ball crisis.
Good Luck to our Athletics Team
Good luck to our athletics team who are representing SHPS at the South Weston Athletics Carnival.
Take care and keep safe
