Survey My School
An email was sent to all parent and carers early this week. If you did not receive the email please check you junk email or use the link below. We encourage you to take a moment to complete the survey. It is an opportunity to celebrate what makes Sacred Heart a wonderful and effective learning community and to reflect on areas in which we can keep improving. The link for parents is:

The surveys are only open until the 9th August 2019.
Stage 3 - Bake a Book
Beginning Week 4 and running untill the end of Term, the Stage 3 students will be baking cakes based on their favourite book. Each year some wonderful cakes are made. Again this year we will be cutting up the cake and selling the pieces each Wednesday at recess from Week 4 until Week 10. It will be for 50c per piece. The Stage 3 students are required to include a list of ingredients and of course they will be nut free.
Please ensure that your child also has recess for that day in case the cakes sell out. We look forward to your support.

Working Bee
Friday 16th August from 3.30 -5.00pm. We need as many helpers as we can to fill the sandpits, spread mulch and build the irrigation for the new environment centre. Please bring wheelbarrows and shovels.
Please email Office Email if you are able to come along. We promise a cool drink and a warm welcome. We have spare tools if you don’t have your own. If it is raining, we will send a notice via SZapp to postpone.
A big thankyou to our first fast working group of parents last weekend. We got more done than planned!

6 weeks until our BIG SPRING FETE
What can I do this week?
- Can you help a class type up their stories for their class book?
- Do you have any lovely wine or old keys to donate for the wine cage?
- Guess how many bricks are in the lego jar in the front office. 50c a guess.
- Donate books, toys and pre-loved scarves. These can be dropped off to the front office.
- Grab your choice of time on the helper rosters. Spaces are starting to fill! We have an amazing community. We need helpers Wednesday 18th and Friday 20th in the afternoon and FETE day Saturday 21st. We welcome parents, carers, grandparents, friends of the school and parish, and older siblings seeking volunteer hours to give an hour or a day! Visit our rosters online via this link or see us at the disco next week.
- Follow our event page on Facebook and spread the word to all of your friends.
What can I prepare for?
- Get gardening and pot up some beauties for the Plant Stall.
- Why not put your talents on show by donating items to the Craft Stall. These can be dropped off to the school office by Friday morning 20th September.
- Tombola pots are on their way for you to fill with goodies.
- Get your tastebuds ready for the yummy Indian and Mexican food stall. Thanks to Silpa and Gemma.

Yesterday Sacred Heart participated in the south side Oz Tag Gala Day at Deakin. We had 59 students attend from 3/4 and 5/6. The students performed extremely well, we had a combination of students who had played oz tag before and some who had never played. They played with excellent sportsmanship and with the Sacred Heart Spirit. It was a wonderful day.
Here are some pictures of the Sacred Heart Primary School Oz Tag teams.Sacred Heart will be celebrating National Science Week (10-18th August) with the school participating in a range of science activities throughout the week.
A collaborative opportunity for the students will take place on Friday 16th August with the construction of a Space Shuttle. We would like families to collect a small amount of recyclable material to contribute to the building of the Space Shuttle. Items that are cylinder in shape such as plastic bottles or paper towel rolls as well as bottle lids and general cardboard from boxes (no bigger than cereal size) would be appreciated. The students will be working in the multi-age groups they formed for Peer Support to complete this activity, so all student’s materials will be combined.
We encourage students to start collecting their recyclable materials now and to bring them into school from Monday 12th August.
