Dear Community,
I want to remind families that enrolment forms for Kindergarten 2025 are due by Friday, 31 May (siblings included). If you know families wishing to enrol for 2025, please encourage them to contact me or visit our website. We already have a good number returned for Kindergarten 2025. We held our final Open Day yesterday, and many visitors were having a look at our school. Please spread the word.
Disco
We look forward to our student disco next Friday, 31 May, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the school hall. Bring your dancing shoes, kids!
The cost is $7 and covers a snack, a drink, and entry into the disco. We need parent support to ensure this is successful. Please consider assisting and email the office if you can: office.shps@cg.catholic.edu.au.
Thank you!

We welcome Matthew to the Sacred Heart community.
Canteen News
Mrs Tracey Kane will be on Long Service Leave from Week 5 until the end of the term. During this time, Friday's canteen orders will be through Merchants Feast. There will be no hotdogs on Friday until Tracey returns next term, and there will also be no counter sales until then. Lunch orders can be placed on QKR!
I appreciate your understanding.
Enjoy the long weekend.
In faith and partnership,

Congratulations Miss Schneider
Miss May Schneider joined us as an Early Career Teacher at the beginning of this year, teaching Year 1 Red. Last week, May spent two days with other teachers new to Catholic Education in Canberra Goulburn, focusing on their call to be Catholic teachers. They were all commissioned at a beautiful mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral, lead by Fr Richard (now the Vicar General). We were thrilled to join May at this mass and know she will continue to be a shining example to all of us. Congratulations on her university graduation next week.
Term 2 Meeting
All members of the school community are invited to join us in person for the next meeting of the School Community Council on Thursday 30 May at 6pm.
Mrs Wode will be demonstrating a Spelling Mastery lesson for parents to experience.
Vacant positions
Are you an ideas person?
Ever considered joining the Community Council Committee but didn't want to commit to a formal role? The format of the committee has changed for 2024 and we are looking for three new volunteers to share ideas/brainstorm/provide feedback from parents.
The role requires meeting with the exec about five times a year, both online and in person, to help brainstorm ideas with the current Community Council Exec, the Principal and Vice Principal.
The role doesn't require any previous council experience and the committee is keen to have new members.
Please contact Jac Hrast (0410 544 482) to find out more.
Touch Typing Club is well underway, with students from K-6 coming to the Library at lunch times on Fridays, to improve their keyboarding skills with Mrs Morella. What a great life skill!
Our Harmony Day events were a colourful celebration of the diversity of cultures in our school. Australia has one of the most diverse and inclusive populations in the world, and Sacred Heart reflects this.
Thank you to all staff, parents and children who shared their culture on the day. We had Greek and Irish dancing, Italian sausage and pasta and stories, Chinese dumplings and lanterns - just to name a few. The children looked the part in Orange for ‘We all Belong’ and various items of cultural clothing.
Awards will be presented during the school assembly on Friday from 2.40pm.
