Dear Community
I am writing from the 2024 APPA/NZPF Trans-Tasman Conference in Christchurch, New Zealand, where I have joined over a dozen of my fellow Principals from our Archdiocese. This joint conference, organised by the Australian Primary Principals Association (APPA) and the New Zealand Principals Federation (NZPF), brings together school leaders from both countries to share insights, learn from one another, and explore the future of education in our ever-changing world.
The conference has been an enriching experience so far. The sessions have provided great inspiration and practical ideas, focusing on leadership, well-being, and innovation in education. Keynote speakers have challenged us to think deeply about the role of Principals in shaping our students' academic and social and emotional development.
Beyond the formal sessions, connecting with colleagues from across Australia and New Zealand has been invaluable. The opportunity to share experiences and strategies has been energising, and I look forward to bringing back some fresh ideas to Sacred Heart.
I am truly grateful for the chance to attend this international conference, and I am excited to continue learning over the remaining days. Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to returning on Monday.
Stage 2 camp
Our Stage 2 students have returned from their overnight camp at Birrigai, and what an amazing experience it was! It was Year 3's first time staying overnight. Across the two days, the children participated in a variety of activities that challenged them, built their confidence, and strengthened their teamwork skills. From outdoor games to problem-solving challenges, they embraced every moment with enthusiasm.
The students enjoyed making new memories with their friends and have returned with plenty of stories to share. A special thank you to the wonderful staff who attended and supported the camp, ensuring everything ran smoothly and that our students had a safe and enjoyable time. Photos to come next term.
Well done, Stage 2—we’re so proud of you!
First Day of School next term
This is a friendly reminder that the first day back for Sacred Heart students will be Monday, 14 October. Please note that our school does not have a Pupil-Free Day on this day, as this only applies to government schools. We look forward to welcoming all our students back for an exciting Term 4!
Twilight Fair- Friday 8 November
Our much-anticipated Twilight Fair is fast approaching! Please mark your calendars for Friday, 8 November, as we prepare for a fantastic evening of fun, food, and community spirit.
To make this event a success, we need the support of our wonderful parents. Even an hour of your time can make a big difference. Please consider signing up to help on a stall—your involvement is critical to ensuring that this day is enjoyable for everyone.
Let’s come together to create a memorable and exciting community day. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
Congratulations Miss Schneider!
We extend our warmest congratulations to Miss May Schneider, one of our Year 1 teachers, who will be getting married this weekend. This is such a joyous occasion, and we wish May and her soon-to-be husband all the love, happiness, and blessings as they begin this exciting new chapter of their lives.
Please join us in celebrating this special moment with May and keeping her in your thoughts and prayers during this time of celebration.

- Term 4 Sport Day will be sent as a Compass push before the term starts.
At the start of Term 4 students will start wearing their summer uniform.
Mr Austin would prefer if children did remain in the correct uniform until that time, but understands that the change in weather may affect some children. If they are struggling with the heat/cold, by all means swap between the long and short. We usually give a two week buffer for change of seasons at the end or beginning of each term.
Please follow the LINK for the Uniform Policy on our website.
Mrs Tracey Kane opens the Clothing Pool for fittings on Wednesday and Friday mornings 8.30-9.30am. Orders can be placed online via Qkr! with the items delivered to your child's classroom once the order is processed. Hats can be purchased through our office at any time. A reminder that bags, including library bags can also be ordered.
