- Students Not Returning to Sacred Heart Primary in 2025
Dear Sacred Heart community,
What a fantastic evening we had last Friday night at our Twilight Fair! Seeing our school community come together for such an enjoyable event filled with rides, stalls, food, and laughter was wonderful. The weather was kind to us, too. We are still finalising the exact amount (with reimbursements etc) but will announce the final figure, and congratulate all our winners and sponsors shortly. All money raised is going towards the school fence and literacy resources. Thank you to Mrs Kat Doyle, our dedicated Fair Coordinator, and her hardworking committee for the countless hours spent planning and organising. Additionally, we appreciate Mrs. Kerry Wode's efforts at the school level and our dedicated staff committee members who made it all possible. What a night to remember!
Kindergarten Orientation Day
We welcomed nearly 40 eager pre-schoolers and their parents this morning for our Kindergarten Orientation Day. Seeing the excitement as our future Kindergarten students explored their new classrooms and met some of our teachers was wonderful. We look forward to welcoming our new students and their families into our Sacred Heart community next year. I am pleased to announce our Kindergarten teaching team for 2025:
- Kindergarten Red: Mrs. Sam Peake (Mon-Tue), Mrs. Jessica Mynott (Wed-Fri)
- Kindergarten White: Mrs. Jessica Pearson-Lee (Mon-Tue), Mrs. Meg Baldry (Wed-Fri)
Our team is enthusiastic and ready to start an incredible learning journey with our newest students.
Remembrance Day Service
Our school and parish community gathered for a solemn Remembrance Day service last Monday. This day is a meaningful time to pause, reflect, and honour those who have served and sacrificed for our country. We come together each year to teach our students the importance of remembrance, instilling deep respect and gratitude for those who have given their lives for our freedom and peace. The beautiful service allowed us to collectively reflect on peace, courage, and unity and pray for peace in our world.
In faith and partnership,
David Austin

Sport Days
Kindergarten: Monday & Thursday
Stage 1: Monday & Friday
Stage 2: Monday & Friday
Stage 3: Monday & Thursday
On Monday 11th November, we gathered as a school and Parish community to acknowledge Remembrance Day. We were honoured and grateful to have Australian Defence Personnel in attendance. The Liturgy was led by our Year 6 Faith Leaders at the ‘Remembrance Gathering Place’ outside Sacred Heart Church. The students were extremely respectful during the Remembrance Day service, honouring those who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country.
Sacred Heart Community Ride and Walk to school Morning
Our Term 4 Ride or Walk to school morning, Friday 15th November, Week 5.
Please organise walking/riding to school this day. Ways to do this could be to communicate/connect via The Sacred Heart Parents and Carers Facebook page or utilise other parent networks you have (you may wish to set up a whats app to organise daily or weekly walking to school days). Please find attached our usual meeting points (without teachers) so parents can meet there and send their children on their way to school. This may help to organise future riding/walking mornings and if some parents are able to walk with the group, they can talk about how to get to school safely with the children.
As usual, we will have fresh fruit, music and a raffle draw when students arrive at school.
We hope this continues building confidence and independence for our Sacred Heart Students, enabling them to nurture their hearts, minds and spirits.
Year 5/6 students have been enjoying inquiring into how 'matter changes' during STEAM lessons and building their physical fitness with bike riding with Mr Sweeney during sport lessons.
Altar Servers for our School and Parish Masses
All children who have completed the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, are invited to serve at the Lord’s Table by assisting the priest at mass.
Fr. Emil gave his time to train interested Sacred Heart students to become Altar Servers for our School and Parish Masses. This is an excellent opportunity to serve God by being an active participant in our worship community.
We look forward to seeing these students serve at our masses over the next few weeks under the guidance of Fr. Emil. Thank you to Year 6 students Maiya and Eloise for supporting the new Altar Servers.
If any students are interested in being an Altar Server at School Masses or Weekend Masses, please contact Mrs Katie Imbriano (Sacred Heart) or Mrs Melanie Kerr (Office Manager MHoC Parish) on 02 62861908
St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal
Every year the Sacred Heart community support the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal with donations of food for Christmas Hampers. This year we want to continue to play an important part in renewing hope for the thousands of people who face an uncertain Christmas.
Our appeal collection will run from next week to Friday 6th December (Week 8).
Donations will be collected in classrooms and at the Front Office.
The Stages have been allocated the following items:
Play Group – Spreads, tinned fruit and muesli bars
Kindergarten – sweet biscuits, cereal, long life milk
Year 1 and Year 2 – Chips, sweets/lollies, Christmas cakes
Year 3 and 4 – Soft drinks, cordials, Christmas puddings
Year 5 and 6 – Dried pasta, pasta sauce, tea and coffee, milo
*Any donations of dry pet food would also be appreciated*
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for making others in our community feel special during this holiday season.
