Dear Sacred Heart Community,
It’s hard to believe the end of the school year is here, and Christmas is less than two weeks away. This season is a time for reflection on the message of Christmas: the birth of a child, a symbol of new life and hope, even in the humblest of circumstances.
Christmas reminds us of the love of God, who came into our world to live, suffer, and die for each of us. It challenges us to grow in faith and love, not just during the festive season but throughout our lives.
As the year draws to a close, I encourage you to reflect on this message with your families and consider celebrating this joyous time by attending one of our Parish Christmas Masses.
Christmas Carol Night
Last Thursday was truly a magical evening! We were thrilled to see such an incredible turnout of staff, parents, students, and extended family members coming together to celebrate the Christmas spirit at our annual Christmas Carol Night.
A heartfelt thank you to the amazing volunteers who made the evening special by cooking and serving sausages and serving drinks. A big shoutout to our dedicated teachers, particularly Laura Stumbles and Elysia Riley, for preparing our students so beautifully for their performances.
The overwhelming feedback from many of you about the night has been so positive—thank you for your support. It was wonderful to gather as a school community in such large numbers and celebrate together.
Year 6 Graduation
Tomorrow, we celebrate a major milestone for our Year 6 students—their graduation from primary school. After seven wonderful years of primary school, they are ready to take on the new adventure of high school.
On behalf of the entire school community, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to our graduating students. We are so proud of all you have achieved, and we look forward to hearing about your future successes.
End of Year Mass
Our final Mass for the year will be held tomorrow, Thursday, 12th December, at 12:30 pm. All families are warmly invited to join us as we give thanks for the year and pray for a joyful Christmas season.
Pupil Free Day
This is a reminder that next Tuesday, December 17th, will be a Pupil-Free Day. The final day for students this term is Monday, December 16th.
Staff 2025
I am pleased to announce our staff for 2025, as we prepare for another exciting year at Sacred Heart. However, as we look ahead, we also take this time to farewell four-valued members of our community who will be leaving us at the end of the year:
- Mrs. Jane Cox, Classroom Support Assistant
- Ms. Ellen Fletcher, Year 2 Teacher
- Mr. Dan Fulton, Year 5 Teacher
- Miss Chelsea Wills, Classroom Support Teacher
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of them for their dedication, effort, and commitment to Sacred Heart. Their contributions have enriched our school and made a lasting impact on our students and community.
We wish Jane, Ellen, Dan, and Chelsea all the best in their future endeavours and thank them for their invaluable service to Sacred Heart. They will be greatly missed.

We are excited to announce that the Twilight Fair made a profit of $16713. This is an excellent amount and comparable to past events which did not include mechanical rides. The biggest winner was a real boost for our community spirit. This fundraising effort is paying for our new fence and literacy resources as we adopt the InitiaLit Program across Kindergarten, Year 1 and 2.
More People to Thank
We can’t host a huge community event like the Twilight Fair without helpers. We hope that you made new friends and felt the love from us all.We wish to thank:
- our stall holders for all your planning and working
- all stall helpers on the day
- our bakers, food and drink donors
- everyone who donated amazing items for our stalls - books, toys, clothes, plants, craft…
- everyone who came along to a working meeting
- everyone who helped set up and pack up
- all who bought tickets in our prize draws
The biggest thanks goes to our committee members for the months of organising, especially for Kat Doyle our talented Fair Leader who inspired us.
We host a fundraiser every year. We are beginning to plan for next year, which is usually a smaller event, like a colour run or walk-a-thon. If you would like to be involved or have an idea for community event you would like to propose, please let us know in the new year.
Yours in the virtue of gratitude,
Thank you to everyone who came along and joined in on our Christmas Carol evening. It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves, even though it was so hot!
Our Heartsong Choir sang like angels at the Pearce Community Carols on Monday evening. We love this event each year. Thanks again to Mrs Riley and Miss Hildegard for leading our choir.
