Dear Community,
What a great turnout to our Mothers’ Day breakfast last Friday, the biggest ever! I hope all the Mums, Grandmas, and significant women in our children’s lives had a great breakfast and were spoiled on Sunday. I want to thank the Moscaritolo family for their help in providing a coffee machine and to the many parents who cooked, served…… and cleaned up! Thank you! Community days like this help make our school such a great place.
Our Mothers’ Day Mass was fantastic too, thanks to Year 1 for leading it and to the many parents and visitors who attended.
Enrolments 2026
Please remember all enrolment applications (siblings included) must be submitted by Friday, 30 May. If you know families wishing to enrol for 2026, please encourage them to jump onto our website and complete the enrolment form. We already have a good number returned for Kindergarten 2026, and there is a chance places could fill this year. We are hosting another Open Day next Wednesday, 21 May, from 9:00-11 am and 3-6 pm. Please encourage those thinking of enrolling to visit our school. I will commence enrolment interviews soon, and I know we have some very excited children and families ready for Kinder next year. For children enrolling in Systemic Secondary schools (MacKillop Catholic College, Merici College and St Clare’s College), forms must be completed and returned to the school of your choice by next Friday.
School Photo Day
It's that time of year again, School Photo Day is just around the corner! Next Tuesday, 20 May, our students will have the opportunity to create lasting memories with their class and individual portraits.
Full winter uniform is required to ensure everyone looks their best. Please check that all uniform elements are neat and tidy. These photos will be a wonderful keepsake for years to come, capturing the spirit of our Sacred Heart community.
If you have any questions, please get in touch with the office. Let’s make this a picture-perfect day!
Trivia Night – Lock in the Date!
We are excited to announce our Trivia Night in the School Hall on Saturday, June 14th! Doors open at 6 pm, and the first round of questions begins at 7pm. This parent only event is designed to bring our school community together for a fun and friendly competition night.
Gather a table of 8–10, or let us know if you’d like to be placed on a team. Either way, just email communitycouncilshps@gmail.com to secure your spot!
There will be prizes, raffles, and games throughout the night, with all proceeds going towards the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, which I will be participating in once again.
Entry is just a gold coin donation, and you’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks for a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
School Disco- Friday 30 May
Get ready to boogie, Sacred Heart kids! Mark your calendars for Friday, 30 May—a night of dazzling lights, epic dance moves, and non-stop fun. From 6:00 to 7:15PM in the School Hall, we’ll turn up the tunes and bring the community together to celebrate music, laughter, and pure joy.
Entry is just $5, covering costs, making it the best bargain for an evening of excitement! Full details will be available on Compass tomorrow, so stay tuned.
In faith and partnership,
David Austin
Principal
Sewing Fairy Needed
We are hoping a wonderful sewing fairy in our community could help us out. We need 25 fabric drawstring bags for keeping our headphones. The bags need to be about 25x25cm in size. Please talk to Kerry Wode if you know someone who can take on this project.
Lost Property
A huge thank you to Kat and Katie who answered my plea last week for Lost Property helpers. They have tackled the mountain already, and today have reunited all items with names to their owners. You should see how sparkling the cupboard is now!
We have a pile of items (clothing, bottles, lunch boxes) in the office which have no names, unreadable names, or ‘second-hand’ purchases with old names. If your family is missing something please come look in the office. All unclaimed property will be donated to the clothing pool or Vinnies at the end of the week.
It is a timely reminder to put your child’s name clearly on all items of clothing and equipment.
Attendance Notes
We are very appreciative of those families who are completing absence notes in a timely manner. Also there has been an improvement in school arrival times. Arriving before the morning bell is essential for starting the day well.
Yours in working together
Kerry Wode
