Dear Parents and Carers,
In this time of uncertainty and change I thought to use the model of St Joseph who's feast we celebrate today. This adapted reflection from "Living Word" on today's Gospel (Matt 1:16, 18-21, 24).
Forget St. Joseph as the “Foster Father of Jesus.” He’s not. He is the “Husband of Mary.” That’s how the Church announces this feast in the heart of Lent.
The Gospel for today is Matthew 1:
Her husband Joseph, being a man of honour and wanting to spare her publicity, decided to divorce her informally.
Let us be people of honour, wanting desperately to care for the people in our lives.
We are on board. We shall be people after the heart of Joseph and look out for each other at this time.
Amen.

Skill building in identifying behaviours, inclusive practice and developing empathy to assist students to transition into making positive decisions to change. This might be an opportunity for parents of participating students to remind your child about when they have handled change well and the skills they could use.

Learning Asset - Communicators
Communicators can communicate ideas confidently in different ways and for different purposes. They listen thoughtfully to what others communicate. They can adapt their communication style to different contexts. (K. Murdoch ‘Power of Inquiry’ p98)
Communicators know that we use our whole bodies to express ourselves. They learn to manage their voice and word choice for different audiences and purposes. Examples of times when we may teach the assets of being a communicator may include:
- Use our body and face as well as words to communicate effectively
- Confidently share our thinking and feeling
- Speak to others in a way that helps them understand
- Create digital texts to communicate ideas
- Use the right voice and language for different situations
- Listen carefully to what we are hearing and show others that we are listening
- Ask questions to help us understand
- Design and use criteria to plan and assess our communication
- Select the right communication form for the purpose or context
- Persuade and convince an audience
Kinder and Stage 1 will focus on being ‘Confident’. Stage 2 and 3 will develop language about all three – Confident, Respectful, Responsive
Congratulations to the following students celebrating their Birthday
