Dear Parents and Carers,
The beautiful
spring came;
and when nature
resumes her loveliness,
The human soul is apt to revive also.
Harriett Ann Jacobs
Happy Father’s Day
This weekend we celebrate all fathers. We all hold special memories of those ordinary people in our lives who through love became our heroes and guides.
We are disappointed that once again we have to celebrate Father’s Day at SHPS from a distance. Within this week’s Google classrooms Mrs Imbriano has prepared a Prayer Service to bless the place they hold in our hearts.
Bless all fathers
As they care for their families.
Give them strength and wisdom,
Tenderness and patience;
Support them in the work they have to do.
Included within the deck of slides are activities that children could do to prepare for Sunday. If you and your child/ren choose to complete the activities please remember to send a copy in so that we can use them to create a display.
Thank you to those children who have already sent theirs in.
50th Anniversary Dinner cancelled
As you know we have had a small committee busily working behind the scenes organising our 50th + 1 Anniversary Celebrations. We had been very excited to send out the save the day and invitations were ready to print.
After considering the following:-
- uncertainty of how people will feel about being out and about after Lockdown
- an understanding that families may have been affected financially
- it would be unlikely that guests from interstate would be able to attend
- finding sponsorship at this time seems insensitive to the situation we are in
With a heavy heart we have decided to cancel the event and aim to have an SHPS celebration of community when possible.
Remote Learning
The wellbeing of everyone in our community is at the centre of this time of lockdown and isolation. Please reach out if you need and let someone know how you are travelling.
A big thank you to:
- Mrs Borgia for the awesome virtual Book Parade. The creations made people across the community were outstanding and demonstrated the artistic flair and talent in our community.
- Mrs Wills who is continuing to connect our families from playgroup in activities each week.
- Parents for the way in which you continue to support us and your children’s learning. We appreciate what you do. We also understand that doing everything is not always possible.
With the extension of Lockdown until the 17th September, Remote Learning will continue until the end of term. Supervision of children of essential workers and vulnerable families will continue to be offered.
With Remote Learning continuing, please give yourselves and your children a break when needed. We will continue to link support documents and wellbeing ideas to our website. Click here to visit our page.
Contact your child’s teacher or the front office should you have any questions. We are here to support your child and family.

Yesterday's activity for Year 1 was to read a book about Wetlands and draw some animals that live in this habitat. Alby and his family continued his learning by visiting the Mawson Wetlands. He saw 7 ducklings and the sign says that there are five different types of grass in the habitat for the pond and the animals. Such great learning going on in Year 1.
Year 1 are learning about animals and the habitats that they live in. Jude from 1White made an art farm this week. He showed the students in his TEAMS meeting how the ants are making tunnels and told them what food he put in the ant farm. This was such a fantastic learning moment.
